Helios CousteauCatamaran powered by solar energy
The catamaran is a brainchild of International Biological station and is a part of the vast European network of Aquatic Biodiversities Observatories. The ship is not a small one, with impressive infrastructure of 80 seats, width of 6 meters wide and a length of 19 meters. The catamaran also features 20 semi-transparent solar panels and additional four wind turbines, to generate all the energy this green boat, christened the Helios Cousteau, requires.
Groups of enthusiastic students and tourists can be seen thronging the ticket-booking window as the vessel is allowing educational and tourists groups for traversing the largest glacial lake of Spain, Lake Sanarbia. The boat also has underwater cameras which help the tourists view the rich underwater world.
